The tradition can be traced back around 200 years ago when a fearless London chimney sweep stepped out into the path of the runaway horse and carriage of King George III, after a dog had startled the horses.
The King was so thankful that he took off his hat and bowed to the humble chimney sweep who had saved his life.
Later, on his daughter's wedding day, King George sent for the chimney sweep because he believed that the presence of a chimney sweep would bring good luck and happiness to his daughter in her marriage.
And so this lovely English tradition was born - and it's still very lucky for a chimney sweep to kiss the bride and shake the hand of the groom on their wedding day!
Gold Package - from £150
Includes a two hour appearance for photo opportunities and mingling with guests and a beautiful glass chimney sweep's 'lucky charm' keepsake for the bride & groom. This could include greeting guests at the ceremony venue, handing out Orders of Service and confetti and photo opportunities
before and after the ceremony for the bride & groom and guests.
And of course a kiss for the bride and a handshake for the groom!
Platinum Package - from £190
Includes a three hour appearance for photo opportunities and mingling with guests and a beautiful glass chimney sweep's 'lucky charm' keepsake for the bride & groom. This could include greeting guests at the ceremony venue, handing out Orders of Service and confetti, photo opportunities before and after the ceremony for the bride & groom and guests, introducing the bride & groom to the reception guests and a speech about lucky chimney sweeps at weddings.
And of course a kiss for the bride and a handshake for the groom!
